Testing...1..2..3

Have you ever wondered why you are suffering under a particular trial or strain?  We all have trials. And at times we are not exactly sure why! The people of God from past to present underwent all kinds of trials. Yet, the Word of God says, "See, I have refined you, though not as silver; I have tested you in the furnace of affliction."  It can be difficult for us to grasp that God desires to test our hearts for us to see what's in them?  Trials have come and it always amazes me what comes out of them. For some situations I have grace, and for others I just don't.  But, I know God has given me everything needed to stand up under the trial.

A teacher never wants to see his student fail a test - it actually reflects poorly on the teacher. A good teacher equips his student with tools to pass the test.  If the student takes that equipping seriously, he usually does pretty well! Yet, when the student fails, the teacher desires the student to seek him out for more understanding.  Not run away from the teacher or drop the class!  That's where we who are undergoing testing from the Lord need to get stronger.  Not lash out at the teacher or the teacher's assistant who handed out the test.  It would be so much better to humbly go back to the Teacher and talk about what needs improving.  Then the hope is for next time around on that subject, you will come forth as gold!

"But he knows the way that I take;
    when he has tested me, I will come forth as gold."

Isaiah 48:10, Job 23:10
